AI music generator: describe it, get a track

An AI music generator composes a new track from a written description. Describe the genre, mood, and instruments, pick a length from 15 sec to 3 min, and Klakix's Music Composer returns an MP3: a song that sings your own lyrics, or instrumental background music. Tracks are cleared for commercial use, and 30 sec costs 18 credits.

The 20 free credits you get after verifying your email work here too: a 30 sec track costs 18 credits.

How it works

A track in three steps

  1. Describe the music

Write the genre, mood, instruments, and where you'll use it. For a song, add your lyrics after “Sing only these lyrics:” in quotes.

  2. Pick the length and vocals

Choose from 15 sec to 3 min. Turn on “Instrumental only” for background music with no vocals or lyrics.

  3. Listen and download

The track usually takes under a minute. Play it, download the MP3, or generate the same prompt again for a different take. It stays in your Library.

Writing the prompt

How to write a good music prompt

The model only knows what you write, up to 2,000 characters. Four things are usually enough: genre, mood, instruments, and tempo. Add where you'll use it, and the track is arranged for that.

Genre, mood, instruments, tempo

  • Genre: pop, lo-fi, rock, jazz, electronic, cinematic, folk, hip-hop. One genre gives a clearer result than mixing three.
  • Mood: upbeat, calm, sad, energetic, mysterious, inspiring. For an ad, describe how the brand should feel; for narration, the tone of the topic.
  • Instruments: piano, acoustic guitar, strings, drums, synths, ukulele. The instruments you list set the color of the track.
  • Tempo and shape: slow, mid, fast; “starts quiet and builds” or “calms down at the end” work too.

Songs with lyrics

Describe the music first, then write “Sing only these lyrics:” and put the lyrics in quotes. Say whether the voice should be male or female. Write your own lyrics rather than someone else's. Short lines, similar syllable counts, and a repeated chorus make the song flow. The lyrics have to fit the length: one line for a 15 sec jingle, two or three for a 30 sec song.

Background music

Turn on “Instrumental only” and say what goes on top: “stays under a voiceover,” “plays behind product shots.” A simple arrangement and a steady tempo won't fight your narration.

Where it helps

What people make with AI music

Ads and jingles

A background track for a product ad, or a short jingle that sings your brand name. You write the lyrics.

Reels, TikTok, and Shorts

Short background music that fits the pace of your clip, without depending on an app's music library.

YouTube videos

Instrumental beds under narration, a channel intro, and short stings between sections.

Podcast intro and outro

A theme that opens and closes every episode and belongs to your show.

Games and apps

Menu music, level music, or a short victory tune.

Presentations and events

Calm or uplifting music for a company video, a conference opener, or a product launch.

Royalty-free music

AI music or a stock music library?

In a stock library everyone picks from the same tracks. Here every track is composed new from your prompt.

Searching for royalty-free or background music usually ends in a library: you pick a track, check its license, and download it. You may hear the same track in other people's videos, and finding the right length and mood takes time. With an AI music generator you don't search, you describe: you set the length, tempo, and feel.

The tracks are cleared for commercial use and download as MP3. You can't name real artists or songs, and it won't imitate a known song.

With voiceover and sound effects

Music is one tab of the voiceover studio. In the same place you can record narration with AI voiceover and make sound effects; all three use the same credit balance. To mix narration and music into one file, use a video editor.

Pricing

What a track costs

You pay by length; vocals or instrumental doesn't change the price. You see the exact cost before you generate.

Music cost by length
LengthCreditsUSD
15 sec9 credits$0.33–$0.60
30 sec18 credits$0.65–$1.20
1 min36 credits$1.31–$2.40
2 min72 credits$2.61–$4.80
3 min108 credits$3.92–$7.20

The dollar range depends on which credit pack you buy; bigger packs cost less per credit. If a track fails, the credits are refunded automatically. The 20 free credits you get after verifying your email work here too: a 30 sec track costs 18 credits. See pricing for every pack.

Being honest

What it doesn't do

  1. Prompts can't name real artists or songs, so it won't imitate a known song, melody, or a singer's voice. Describe the style instead: “90s pop feel, female vocals.”
  2. No voice cloning: you can't upload your own voice to sing. The vocals are AI voices.
  3. One track is at most 3 min. For a longer piece, generate several and join them in an editor.
  4. You can't edit part of a track, extend it, or download stems (separate instruments). For a change, you generate a new track.
  5. Music isn't added to a video for you. Put the MP3 under your video in an editor or the app you post with. The output is MP3 only.
  6. How the lyrics are sung varies between takes. If a word lands wrong, simplifying the line and generating again usually fixes it.

FAQ

Questions people ask

How do I make a song with AI?

Open the Music tab in the voiceover studio and describe the song: genre, mood, instruments, and vocals. Add your lyrics after “Sing only these lyrics:” in quotes, pick a length from 15 sec to 3 min, and generate. Music Composer composes the song and you download it as an MP3. It runs in the browser; there's nothing to install.

Is there a free AI music generator?

There's no free plan, but the 20 free credits you get after verifying your email can be spent on music. A 15 sec track costs 9 credits and 30 sec costs 18. After that you buy credits (from $5 for 75 credits). No subscription is required, and credits don't expire.

Can I use the music commercially?

Yes. The music you generate is cleared for commercial use: ads, YouTube videos, podcasts, and client work. You can't name real artists or songs, or imitate a known song. Copyright law for AI-generated music is still unsettled in many countries; this isn't legal advice.

How long can a track be?

The lengths are 15 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 2 min, 3 min. The default is 30 sec. For something longer, generate a few tracks and place them back to back in an editor.

Can it write songs with my own lyrics?

Yes. Describe the music, then write “Sing only these lyrics:” and put your lyrics in quotes: Upbeat pop song with female vocals. Sing only these lyrics: "Summer's here, the sun is out, let's dance". Say whether you want a male or female voice. Short lines with a similar number of syllables are sung more cleanly. Write your own lyrics; don't paste someone else's song.

Which languages can the vocals sing in?

English, and many other languages: write the lyrics in the language you want sung. Our own example songs on the Turkish version of this product sing in Turkish.

How do I make background music without vocals?

Turn on “Instrumental only” in the Music tab; there are no vocals or lyrics. Saying where the music will play helps: “stays under a voiceover, calm and steady.” Don't use the lyrics pattern for background music.

What format is the music?

An MP3 at 44.1 kHz and 192 kbps. It opens in any video editor, on phones, and in social apps. WAV and separate instrument tracks (stems) aren't offered. Your tracks stay in your Library.

Can I post it on YouTube and Instagram?

Yes. The platforms' AI rules still apply: YouTube asks creators to disclose realistic altered or synthetic content, and Instagram labels AI-generated content. Check the AI label option when you post a track with realistic AI vocals.

Is Klakix a Suno alternative?

For short songs and background music, yes: you describe the track and get an MP3 you can use commercially, paying per second instead of a monthly plan. It isn't a full music app, though. There's no extending, remixing, or stems, and a track is at most 3 min. Music is one tab of the voiceover studio, next to voiceovers and sound effects.

Can it sound like a famous singer?

No. You can't name real artists or songs, and it won't copy a known voice or melody. You can describe a style in your own words, like “80s synth-pop, male vocals, big drums.”
