AI video upscaler: take any clip to Full HD or 4K

Upload a video, pick Full HD (1080p) or 4K, and Topaz Video AI enlarges it while cleaning up noise and compression artifacts. Turn on 60 fps to add in-between frames for smoother motion. It works on clips up to 30 seconds; a 10-second clip costs 13 credits in Full HD.

How it works

Three steps

  1. Choose your video

Upload a clip up to 30 seconds and 50 MB, or tap “Upscale” under a video you made here.

  2. Pick the quality

Full HD is usually enough for phones. Pick 4K for big screens and editing, and turn on 60 fps for smoother motion.

  3. Upscale and download

You see the price before you start. It takes a few minutes, and you download an MP4.

Highlights

Why make it here

Topaz Video AI

The Proteus model keeps detail in real footage and in AI-generated video alike.

Full HD and 4K

A 10-second clip costs 13 credits in Full HD ($0.47–$0.87) and 38 in 4K.

Smooth 60 fps

Frame interpolation smooths out choppy motion. It doubles the price because there are twice as many frames: 75 credits for 10 seconds in 4K.

One tap for your own videos

Videos you generate here have an “Upscale” button, so there's nothing to download and re-upload.

Pricing

Upscale video to 4K: what it costs

Each upscale is paid per clip: the price depends on the length, the target quality, and 60 fps. The table is for a 720p source at 30 fps; your exact price shows after you upload.

4K

How to upscale a video to 4K

Upload the clip, pick 4K, and press Upscale. The model enlarges every frame so the short side reaches 2160 pixels: a 720p video grows three times, a 1080p video twice. It also removes noise and compression blocks on the way, which is often what makes old phone clips look soft.

  • Pick 4K for big screens, editing, or cropping later. For phones and social posts, Full HD usually looks the same and costs less.
  • Add 60 fps if the motion looks choppy. The model draws in-between frames, so the price doubles.
  • Upscaling sharpens what's there; it can't recover a face that was a blur. Start from the cleanest copy of your video you have.

Topaz

Topaz Video AI in the browser

The upscaler runs Proteus, the general-purpose model from Topaz Labs' Topaz Video AI desktop app. You don't need the app, a graphics card, or a yearly plan: it runs on our provider's servers, and you pay per clip. A 10-second 720p clip is 13 credits in Full HD and 38 in 4K.

The desktop app has more models (Starlight), slow motion, and batch jobs. For a side-by-side comparison of prices and hardware, see Topaz Video AI.

Honest limits

What this tool can't do

  1. Clips can be up to 30 seconds and 50 MB. Split longer videos and upscale the parts.
  2. Upscaling can't invent detail that isn't there. Very blurry faces get cleaner, not redrawn.
  3. Videos showing celebrities, public figures, or nudity are blocked by the safety check, and no credits are used.

FAQ

Common questions

How does AI video upscaling work?

The model rebuilds every frame at a larger size, sharpening edges and removing noise and compression blocks along the way. You just pick a target quality; there's nothing to tune.

Can I upscale a video to 4K?

Yes. Pick 4K and the short side of the video is enlarged to 2160 pixels. A 10-second 720p clip costs 38 credits in 4K, or 75 with 60 fps.

Is there a free video upscaler here?

No. We pay the AI provider for every video and image we generate, and free tries pushed that cost too high. Before you buy, you can watch the samples on our examples page: unedited outputs we made with these same models. The 20 free credits you get after signing up work for voiceovers. An upscale starts at 13 credits, and the smallest option is the Mini pack, 75 credits for $5.

Can I upscale videos I made with AI?

Yes. Most AI video models output 720p or 1080p. Tap “Upscale” on the video in your library or on its details page and it opens here, ready to go.

Which file types work?

MP4, MOV, and WEBM, including iPhone HEVC videos. Uploads are converted to an MP4 that plays everywhere, and metadata like location is removed.
